Homer Would Be Proud
Despite having Troy in the name, the game won’t simply focus on that aspect of the Trojan war. A Total War Saga: Troy will be taking a deep dive into Homer’s classic, Iliad, complete with all the drama and political intrigue. What makes Troy so special, however, is that it takes a sandbox approach. You choose between 8 factions and can embark on your journey any way you please. You can take the Greek forces all the way and sack Troy as was written or even toss the book out the window and go conquer other lands. Even Homer would find A Total War Saga: Troy epic!
Of Gods and Monsters
It wouldn’t be a game about Greek legends without mighty gods and mythical creatures having a hand in things. A Total War Saga: Troy will feature both the gods of the Greek pantheon as well as monsters from legends across the Greek mythological spectrum. They will, however, have vastly different roles in the game. Gods will grant rewards to those who build temples, fight battles and conquer lands in their name. Monsters, on the other hand, will be partaking in the fisticuffs and will be recruitable as playable heroes.
Low Entry Barrier
A Total War Saga: Troy will be free to play for a limited time after its initial release. This will allow players to experience the game before ultimately deciding if they want to buy it. Not a bad deal.
