Prepare yourself for yet another journey in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla. Lead your Norwegian Viking clan across the sea to the English shores and establish your foothold in what will surely be the biggest AC game yet.
Assassin's Creed: Valhalla Will Turn You Into a Norse Legend
From the turmoiled days of the Crusade to the age of the divided kingdoms of Greece, the Assassin’s Creed series feels like an action-filled interactive history lesson. With stories heavily inspired by events long-passed combined with an underlying modern-age conflict, it’s no wonder the series is well-loved. After so many journeys across some of humanity’s most important eras, we’ve all been wondering where the game will go next.
The wait is almost over. Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla will take us on a journey across the Norse plain and in the shoes of the mighty Vikings. Grab your weapons and let’s see what it has in store for us.
A Desperate Journey
In Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla you’ll be taking on the role of Eivor, a Viking leader with a heavy burden to bear. As the head of his clan, he must guide his followers from this native Norway to the shores of England in hopes of finding a new home. The story takes place in 873 which places it squarely during the rule of King Alfred the Great. In actual history books, the English had to face what was known as the Great Heathen Army, a massive band of Vikings who invaded their shores during this time. Be prepared for more references to actual events and possible encounters with historical figures.
Ride The Waves
Just like with Odyssey, Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla will allow you to play as either a male or female protagonist. Instead of having two completely different characters, though, you’ll get to choose whether Eivor is male or female. There will also be a fair bit of customization by way of tattoos and other classic Viking trappings. The game will also let you travel on your own longboat, complete with its own set of customizations. The biggest feature, however, will be the ability to establish a foothold, develop it into a settlement and ultimately manage its economy by way of raids. Of course, the now established airborne scout returns, this time as a raven.
Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla is sounding like the most ambitious entry in the series yet and we can’t wait to hear more.
